A kiss gone bad by Jeff Abbott

I just finished this book- the second I have read in the Whit Mosely series. The second I have read, but actually the first in the series- I suggest you read them in order, I wish I would have! Whit Mosely is a beach bum who happened to fall into the postion of Justice of the Peace and is surprisingly good with some unorthodox methods.

The book starts out when Whit is called to the scene of a dead body. A dead body whom happens to be an old friend of Whit's and the senator's son; Pete Hubble. The scene looks as if Pete committed suicide, but Whit is determined to find the truth.

Finding the truth is much harder than he would anticipate, especially since he is up for reelection and running against a formidable opponent. Whit is being pressured to declare the death a suicide by not only the chief of police, the Senator herself, and some unsavory mob characters. And to make matters worse, teenage girls have been disappearing from the area and someone named the "blade" is responsible.

There is a lot going on in this book and there are some fairly adult themes. If you are looking for a suspenseful easy read- this is the book for you. I give it 4 out of 5 stars and look forward to seeing what Whit Mosely is up to now. Luckily I don't have to wait- there is one more book in the series and a whole new series about a young man named Jordan Poteet. He also has 3 stand alones- I recommend Panic. Don't start it unless you have a free day- I never put it down. To learn more about Jeff Abbott, please go here: http://www.jeffabbott.com/
